The Stone Street Strummers Banjo Band was organized back in 1981 by its founder, Dick Alley. The band has been rehearsing and performing on a continuous basis ever since. The band features both melody and rhythm banjo players along with a variety of other instruments. The band draws its members from the communities surrounding Boston down as far as Cape Cod. Members from Southeastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut are also active participants. |
 Stone Street Strummers December 2006 Weekly practice sessions are held at the American Legion Hall in Foxboro, Ma, and are open to all interested musicians. The Strummers play a variety of musical styles that go back to the turn of the Century when Jazz and Ragtime were first introduced. These popular styles evolved into the toe-tapping songs of the 1920's through the 1940's. Today our performances include Traditional Jazz, Show Tunes, and Pop Hits recognized and appreciated by discriminating audiences throughout Southeastern Massachusetts.
The Stone Street Strummers Banjo Band
made their first LIVE TV appearance.

The Strummers perform in a wide variety of venues from private parties, public events, community organizations, fund raisers, corporate functions to retirement homes. Band members volunteer their time and effort and receive no direct compensation for performing. The band is organized on a non-profit basis, but does charge a nominal fee for performing. This fee covers music, printing, maintenance of equipment and other routine band expenses.
